Rory Brown, Co-founder & CEO

Rory co-founded  AgriBriefing in 2010 and serves as Group CEO. Prior to that, Rory spent over 20 years in senior positions across a wide range of premium international business intelligence companies.

Rory began his career in marketing at commodities and financial information specialist Metal Bulletin before joining Emap to help develop a digital subscription proposition for one of their leading information brands in the Middle East.

After marketing director positions at the Risk Waters Group and Incisive Media, Rory took on a divisional managing director role running a group of acquired businesses based in New York and London.

Rory’s marketing background ensures a deep focus on the needs of end-user communities to deliver products which help those communities operate more effectively.

Rupert joined the team in 2012 at the time of the acquisition of brands from UBM.

He began his career at KPMG before joining Miller Freeman as finance director in 1998.

Rupert went on to hold senior financial director positions at WMRC, SEM Group, Haymarket exhibitions and Dods.

Alongside his financial responsibility Rupert has a specific remit to oversee the company’s events portfolio.

Gehan Talwatte, Non-Exec Chairman

Gehan started his career at Dun & Bradstreet in the USA. He co-founded a software start-up in India (Cognisant Technology Solutions), set up a workflow and credit automation business (eccelerate.com, sold to AIG) and was co-founder and CEO of Hoover’s Online Europe (sold to D&B in 2005).

Most recently Gehan was CEO of Ascend Worldwide, a leading aviation information business backed by LDC and sold to Reed Business Information in 2011.

In addition to his role at AgriBriefing Gehan is the executive chairman of Ishka, an aviation finance business, and non-executive chairman of OAG.

Jim joined the team in 2017 at the time AgriBriefing acquired Urner Barry, where he serves as COO. He has 25 years of experience in the business of agribusiness intelligence, serving in roles that include national accounts management; beef, pork and seafood market reporting; and business development.

Jim’s professional interests include strategic planning, product development, and sales and marketing. In addition, Jim was a contributor to Meat Processing Magazine, is active in several industry trade associations and is a graduate of the National Fisheries Institute Future Leaders Program.

Jim has worked for A&P and independently at the NYSE.

Emma joined AgriBriefing in 2019 as Group CMO. Emma oversees marketing and digital teams across the AgriBriefing Group, and has over 20 years’ experience in Marketing, Digital and IT roles.

Emma began her career working for some of the UK’s leading digital and marketing agencies, working on a range of high profile clients. She later moved in-house, working in media, financial services and logistics companies leading functions ranging from marketing strategy and operations to digital transformation.

Emma is passionate about the use of digital technology and data to address customer and business challenges. Her time in both commercial and technical functions enables her to bring the two specialisms closer together to deliver greater benefits.

Elisabeth Mork-Eidem, Group Events Director

Elisabeth joined AgriBriefing in 2012 and has overall responsibility for the group’s events portfolio. Prior to joining, she spent over 12 years with Marcus Evans, formerly in conference research and production roles before becoming the General Manager for European Conferences. She ran the conference business first from the Prague office and later took over the running of the London based teams.

Whilst at AgriBriefing, Elisabeth has been driving the growth of the events business which includes launching into new markets and new regions through various event formats

Joe has 30 years of experience in providing critical market information to stakeholders in the agribusiness value chain.

Joe joined AgriBriefing in 2017 as part of the acquisition of Urner Barry, where he is CEO.

Julien Hardwick - Managing Director (Europe)

Julien joined AgriBriefing in September, 2021 as Managing Director (Europe) and oversees our three European head-quartered businesses: Feedinfo; Tallage – Strategie Grains and Agrimoney. He has over 25 years’ experience in a range of roles in the global financial markets.

Julien began his career as a financial journalist and Editor with different specialist publications and newswires at Thompson-IFR; Euromoney and Standard & Poor’s, before joining the team that built S&P’s award-winning Equity Research & News service.

Later, as an MD of Sales in S&P Global Insights data and analysis business, he developed sales teams across EMEA; APAC and the Americas and helped to integrate a series of new acquisitions, before taking over the Global Key Accounts group and pioneering S&P’s Future Wallet program.

Most recently, Julien was COO Sales for Nex Optimisation where he restructured commercial operations in the SAAS middle-office business before the Chicago Mercantile Exchange acquired NEX after which helped steer the integration process.
