British Farming Awards 2014 – Farming Hero of the Year

SEVEN inspirational farmers were shortlisted for the first ever Farmers Guardian Farming Hero award as part of the 2014 British Farming Awards.
Gareth Wyn Jones, Wales; David Barton, Gloucestershire; Helen Bower, Nottingham, and Tamara Hall, East Yorkshire, were all nominated for the prestigious award, along with a farming trio who were recognised for their tireless efforts when flooding swamped the Somerset Levels, earlier this year.
Andrew Ward, Lincolnshire, Ed Ford, Essex and Rebecca Horsington; Somerset, were at the forefront of the #forageaid initiative, previously launched by Mr Ward.
The judges chose the Somerset trio as the winners of the inaugural award following a long and difficult judging process.
