In a key promotion, Emma Penny has been appointed Managing Director of Global Data Systems (GDS) and will assume day-to-day management responsibility for AgriBriefing subscription websites Feedinfo, FlexNews and Agrimoney.
AgriBriefing CEO Rory Brown said: “Since the company acquired Farmers Guardian – where Emma was Editor – in 2012 I have worked closely with her on a wide range of projects. At every stage I have been hugely impressed by the dedication and energy she has shown to the task in hand.
“AgriBriefing’s future success ultimately centres on our ability to develop the products and services which allow our communities to operate more efficiently. In the GDS business we have made significant progress over the past two years but there is still so much opportunity to develop further – in our content offerings, delivery platform, geographical expansion and commercial relationships. Emma will now lead those efforts working alongside our fabulous team in Toulouse, Holland and London.”
Emma Penny said: “I am delighted to become MD of such a fantastic business, and to be given the opportunity to further my career within AgriBriefing at such an exciting time for the company.”
In addition to her role as MD, Emma will also retain responsibility for the collaboration and development of AgriBriefing’s content offerings across different parts of the group, which includes Farmers Guardian in the UK, Urner Barry in the USA and a strong portfolio of events and exhibitions.
